What Does the Company Actually Do?
ZenaTech operates across three core business segments. The first is its AI Drone Technology Solutions division, which designs and builds drones for defense, agriculture, warehouse, and commercial applications. The second is its Drone as a Service (DaaS) platform, launched in November 2024, which offers convenient subscription-based or pay-per-use drone services for businesses and government agencies. The third is its Enterprise SaaS Software division, which generated $2 million in sales revenue in 2024 through annual software licenses, support, maintenance, and training.
The idea behind DaaS is straightforward: customers get access to drone-powered services without needing to purchase hardware, hire drone pilots, handle maintenance, or navigate regulatory requirements. Think of it as an AWS-like model, but for drone services.
The Product Lineup
ZenaTech has developed several drone platforms, each designed for different use cases.
The ZenaDrone 1000 is the company's flagship model. It measures 7 by 12 inches and is built for heavy-lift capabilities, advanced scanning, and stable flight.
Key applications include:
- Defense operations such as inspection, surveillance, reconnaissance, cargo transport, and border patrol
- Precision agriculture with sprayer attachments and crop scanners
- A gas-powered version currently in development that could extend flight time to several hours
- A proprietary DroneNet communications system for enhanced connectivity
The company has also built out its IQ Series for more specialized tasks:
✔️ The IQ Nano is a compact indoor inventory drone designed for GPS-denied environments like warehouses and military armories, featuring obstacle avoidance technology
✔️ The IQ Square is a VTOL outdoor drone engineered for line-of-sight land surveys, infrastructure inspections, and defense reconnaissance
✔️ The IQ Quad is an autonomous VTOL drone built specifically for fast, precise land surveying with LiDAR support, obstacle detection, terrain following, a 45-minute flight time, and a 5 km range
✔️ The IQ Aqua is an autonomous underwater drone built for submerged defense and inspection missions, including underwater surveillance, port and harbor threat detection, autonomous inspection, and mine detection and countermeasure support

The Defense Angle
ZenaTech is actively pursuing government and military contracts. The company has completed paid pilot programs with both the U.S. Air Force and Navy for applications such as critical medical supply delivery in field operations and sub-zero climate deliveries.
Its defense go-to-market strategy includes several key elements:
- Building an NDAA-compliant supply chain with a defined pathway toward Green UAS and Blue UAS certification
- U.S.-based manufacturing and assembly aligned with American-Made requirements
- A Washington, D.C. office for direct engagement with defense program managers and planned 2026 field pilots
Zena AI, a dedicated R&D division established in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for advanced AI-driven military and homeland security drone applications - Spider Vision Sensors, a subsidiary in Taiwan established in late 2024, focused on producing U.S. military-compliant cameras, sensors, motors, and PCBs
The company recently announced it is developing initial prototypes for Counter-UAS solutions including a maritime interceptor drone, and a smaller low-cost single-use interceptor drone, for patrolling, engaging and neutralizing enemy drones and drone swarms. It also announced the prototype of a marine launch station for launching, refueling and recovery as part of an integrated defense system.
The company has also secured FAA approval in the medium-large drone category and holds a Part 137 spraying license. Regulatory approvals in the UAE have been granted, while applications in Turkey, Ireland, and Canada are in progress.

Manufacturing and Global Footprint
ZenaTech has built out a notable global manufacturing and operational presence. Its UAE production facility was established in 2022 and expanded to 22,000 square feet in 2025, with production capability of 10 to 15 ZenaDrone 1000 models per month and 25-plus IQ series drones per month. The company also operates an Arizona production facility for R&D, sales, aerial testing, and is commissioning it as a manufacturing site for U.S. military drones.
The company maintains offices and operations across North America, Europe, Taiwan and the UAE, with 24 DaaS locations including a newly opened Orlando-area hub that serves as both the DaaS headquarters and a strategic gateway to U.S. government and defense customers.

Worth Keeping an Eye On?
ZenaTech presents an interesting combination of drone hardware, recurring DaaS revenue, and enterprise software under one umbrella. The company's acquisition-driven growth strategy has rapidly scaled its DaaS platform, while defense ambitions could open the door to government contracts if certifications come through.
For those interested in the commercial and defense drone space, ZENA may be a name worth watching as the company works toward its acquisition targets, defense certifications, and continued DaaS expansion.
