Cheap for a reason, or simply early: five that cleared the screen |
The premise is that finding a low-priced stock was never the hard part. Telling which ones are cheap because the business is broken and which ones are cheap because nobody has looked yet is the hard part. The screen wanted real revenue, improving fundamentals, and a catalyst already on the calendar. Five names cleared it, with the ticker and the case for each. |

🔩 Repriced by a Number None of Them Report |
Four companies, four revenue models, zero disclosures, and one governor's sentence. |
|
|
Zero. That is how many companies on this board answered for themselves with their own numbers between Friday August 28's close and Thursday September 3's. Four names, four different revenue mechanics, and not one new disclosure from any of them during the window in which all four repriced. |
What did produce a number was the two-year Treasury. On Thursday it fell more than four basis points to 4.342% after Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said on the record that he is leaning toward holding rates at the September meeting, as CNBC reported the same afternoon. The ten-year went with it, to 4.772%. |
So the sequence for the week reads like this. No earnings. No contracts. No filings from inside the theater. One governor's sentence, and a board that finished with seven and a quarter points of spread between the row that led and the row that lagged. |

🔧 THE SECOND DERIVATIVE |
The layer under this one is the interconnection queue. As The Motley Fool set out on August 20, the wait to attach a new load to the grid runs in years rather than months, and that lead time is the entire opening for a generator with capacity already spinning. The same piece carries a Goldman Sachs projection of US data center power demand doubling from 31 gigawatts in 2025 to 66 by 2027. |
Which is why a rate matters more at this layer than one level up. Silicon is a working-capital business. A gas turbine, a substation and a transmission run are a capital-budget business, and a capital budget is priced off the long end whether or not anybody on the earnings call says so. |

The 1985 arrangement, and the case that it is being drafted again (Ad) |
The Plaza Accord drove the dollar down deliberately and it worked as designed. The argument here is that the same play is on the table now, and the piece walks through what an arrangement of that kind does to money sitting in cash while it happens. |

🥊 THE COUNTER |
The obvious objection is that this is beta with extra steps. Vistra carries more of it than the utility index does, and in a week where risk gets bid the higher-beta name leads by construction. That is a fair objection and it does some of the work. |
It does not do all of it. The control did 0.70% while Vistra did 5.20%, and no reasonable beta reproduces seven to one. The counter to my counter is that most of Vistra's week is a single Wednesday: 3.90% on that session against roughly 1.3% across the other three. Both of those are true. Neither of them settles anything inside four sessions, and anyone selling you a regime change off this sample is selling you the sample. |

The rotation out of the biggest seven, and who might lead instead (Ad) |
The report's argument is that the rotation away from the largest names is already underway after a volatile first quarter, and it names the seven the analysts think could lead the back half of 2026 in their place. |

📡 WHAT TO WATCH |
The projections on September 17, not the decision. Every megawatt on this board that is still under construction rather than already spinning is financed against the path in that document, and the theater has no disclosure of its own scheduled before it. Four names will spend the next two weeks being priced entirely on somebody else's number. Again. |

📋 // COLLECTION PRIORITIES |
Monday, September 7. Labor Day. US markets closed. Thursday's marks stand for three days. |
Tuesday, September 8. The reopen. Three days of accumulated flow clears in one auction, with Friday's August payroll number in it: 162,000 against a consensus near 53,000, per CNBC. |
September 16 and 17. The FOMC meeting and the projections. The financing path for every capital budget on this board. |
Standing item. No own-quarter disclosure is scheduled from any of the four board names before that meeting. Until one lands, the board keeps trading on numbers it does not produce. |

The day's calendar, before it becomes the day's news |
Half of what moves a session is on a public calendar before the open: the prints, the speakers, the scheduled numbers. Most people find out after the fact. Good Morning Alerts sends what is on the schedule, plus the overnight moves, early enough to be useful. Free, short, and no pretense that it is anything more than a briefing. |
