CASEY DAILY DISPATCH - Casey Research

Hey guys, Dave here, and welcome to Path to Profits.

There’s a lot of exciting stuff going on in geotech, strategic materials, finance, and the companies that drive those trends…

You see, no one covers this space like we do. So every week, I’ll highlight the top hotspots gaining momentum in the media.

It’s how we find our best money-making opportunities, just ripe for big gains.

Check out this week’s top hotspots below to find out which trends are gaining traction…

This Week's Top Hotspots

➤ An outlaw took control of a world-leading cobalt project.
Bloomberg reported that Israeli businessman Dan Gertler purchased rights to the Metalkol mine in the DR Congo – one of the world’s largest cobalt sources. Gertler is under sanctions from the U.S. for “opaque and corrupt mining and oil deals.”

➤ The Pentagon handed out millions for rare earths.
California miner MP Materials was the big winner, grabbing $9.6 million in Department of Defense funding. It’ll use the money to develop new processing facilities at MP’s Mountain Pass mine. The company also debuted on the NYSE, with a $500 million valuation.

➤ Mexico took another step toward nationalizing lithium.
The Mexican senate introduced a plan to declare lithium mines exclusive property of the state. Backers said it still allows for private companies to participate. It’s not clear how this would affect current projects, including a $420 million venture backed by China’s Ganfeng Lithium.

➤ A leading battery metal firm teetered on bankruptcy.
China’s Tianqi Lithium said it could default on $1.88 billion in loans later this month. The firm produces 10% of global lithium supply. Tianqi took the loans in 2018 to buy into lithium projects in Chile.

➤ Another gold miner disappeared.
Canadian gold producer Endeavour Mining said it will acquire Teranga Gold to form a new firm worth $1.86 billion. The combined company will produce 1.5 million ounces yearly, entirely in Africa.
