Greetings Everyday Spy, 59% of all people are ruled by their emotions.   CIA calls these people "Feelers".    Feelers make decisions according to personal opinions, empathy, and concern for people's feelings and opinions.   They value harmony, peace, and politeness and avoid conflict at all costs.    While Feelers make ideal peacekeepers and caregivers, they have a glaring blind spot… they do not understand risk.   CIA trains field operators that there are two different types of risk: 'real risk,' and 'perceived risk.'   Real risk is the measurable risk you take every time you drive a car, fly on a plane, or step out the front door. These risks are based on facts.   Perceived risk is the risk you think you take when you drive, fly, or go outside - despite what science, probabilities, and history tell you. These risks are based on feelings.   You might get nervous every time you step onto an airplane...   But dying in a plane crash is rarer than dying in a car accident, from a lightning strike, or even from a tragic accident in the shower!   Your risk (aka: fear) on an airplane is perceived, not real.   The problem is that feelings dominate perceived risk, and risk dominates decision making.    When you are undercover in a foreign country, your feelings can't be trusted…   You feel like everyone knows you are in disguise.  You feel like you are one step away from being caught. You feel like anyone in a uniform is looking at you with suspicion.   And even though perceived risk isn't 'real,' it can ruin your success in a very real way.    That's why I made this awesome video to teach you how to master risk.   Whether you are a Feeler or not, you win when you make fact-based decisions that bring you success!
