 Greetings Everyday Spy, I've had my fill of headlines trying to convince me that the country is in shambles, the end of our democracy is coming, and the earth is dying.
It's a frustrating but clear fact that modern news has lost its way.
The mainstream media stopped serving public interests with the dawn of social media advertising.
To survive, media outlets split along political lines and started pandering information, updates, and opinions to whatever the dominant political base happened to be at the time.
The sad reality now is that news agencies have become 'useful idiots.'
If you follow my Shadow Lessons interviews or actively research KGB-era espionage, you know that a 'useful idiot' is someone who carries a message without fully understanding the true purpose behind the message.
The term was coined by the KGB during their cold-war influence campaigns attacking the US democratic system.
In the same vein, the RAND corporation released a series of non-partisan reports detailing how foreign actors (Russia AND others) have used news outlets and political media to encourage fear and distrust across our country.
In their blind hunt for ratings and advertising revenue, the media has unwittingly peddled foreign propaganda designed to destroy your faith in our democracy.
Your fellow Americans don't hate you because of your race, income, or political affiliation.
Media messages that amplify far-left paranoia or far-right violence do not come from the America you love and cherish.

There is a bigger game being played than news pundits and media outlets could ever hope to understand.

And every day that you recognize that, you beat the bad actors and 'useful idiots' out there trying to convince you otherwise.
They are dancing an old dance to a modern tune.
