169 million people were killed in the 20th century by something you hold dear.
It is the second of the four core motivators that all humans have in common.
You've seen it raise some nations out of poverty -- and you've seen it steer other nations to deadly deeds:
- Russia in the 1920s
- Germany in the 1930s
- China in the 1950s
The most powerful core motivation is ideology, and it has more power than you can imagine to steer, shape, or scam human decisions.
CIA defines ideology as anything that makes up your core beliefs. It could be your religion, politics, or social opinions, to name a few.
Humans have a natural desire to believe in something, and act on what they believe… even if those actions do them harm.
That's what makes ideology such an important tool in spying.
And you can use ideology as a tool to win what you want for your career, business, and loved ones.
Seek help from those who have the same ideology as you. Try to understand people with a different ideology from you. And recognize that people of every ideology can help you get what you want… as long as you understand what they believe in.
There is another email coming your way this week with the next (and the most dangerous) core human motivation I learned at CIA!
