A man suspected of using an AR-15 rifle to kill five neighbors execution-style continued to elude an army of law enforcement hunting for him outside Houston over the weekend. Francisco Oropesa was said to have eluded a 2-mile dragnet of more than 150 law enforcement personnel on Saturday near Cleveland, Texas. On Sunday, more than 250 officers were continuing the search. According to the authorities, Oropesa is suspected of opening fire on his neighbors late on Friday after one of them complained that shots coming from his neighboring home were hindering his infant from falling asleep. Oropesa is still at large and almost certainly armed. He poses a "threat to the community," FBI Houston field office agent James Smith informed reporters on Saturday. The FBI has "zero leads" on where Oropesa could be. |

UPS, along with FedEx, is one of the best ways to measure how the U.S. economy is doing. It confirmed what investors could already see in the data: the economy is slowing down, and there may be more short-term trouble brewing. Because of this, the delivery giant now expects full-year sales of $97 billion, which is less than its previous estimate of $99 billion. UPS stock is down 7.3% in the first quarter, while the S&P 500 is down 1.5%. FedEx said last month that it wants to combine several of its units, such as FedEx Express and FedEx Ground. The shipping company also saw a drop in demand in March. In the first quarter, the gross domestic product (GDP) only went up 1.1%, which is less than the 2.6% rise in the fourth quarter. |
Several hundreds of Americans embarked on their escape journey from Sudan on Saturday with the help of Armed U.S. drones and a U.S. Navy ship. This comes as fighting has intensified between the military and a rival paramilitary group. The unmanned drones flew above a convoy of buses during a 500-mile journey from the African nation's capital, Khartoum, to Port Sudan. A U.S. official confirmed that U.S. Navy ship, the USNS Brunswick, had arrived to assist with the evacuation efforts. Here's more details regarding the "intensive negotiations" that went into carrying out the evacuation. |

According to a ground-penetrating radar scan, a Viking Age burial mound in Norway that was previously believed to be empty really houses an amazing artifact: the wreckage of a ship burial. The remains, which are still buried, show that a ship burial occurred at the beginning of the Viking Age (which lasted from A.D. 793 to 1066) in the late eighth century—located on the coast of the island of Karmøy in southwestern Norway. This site may be the birthplace of Viking civilization. It would be the third early Viking ship burial discovered in the region if confirmed. |
