Semiconductor Industry Braces for Helium Shortage Due to Russia Crisis In the wake of the Russia-Ukraine crisis, the White House has warned the semiconductor chip industry about the possibility of shortages of various chipmaking materials — including helium gas. Supply disruptions are certainly possible, as chipmakers currently get some of their materials from both Ukraine and Russia.
