Southbank Live Episode #19: time to call the COPS COP26Fortune & Freedom brought to you by Boaz Shoshan | 04 Nov 2021 |

Dear Reader,
I'm sorry I couldn't make it to last week's episode of Southbank Live. The internet in my Airbnb packed in that day, and I had to call on my capable colleague Kit Winder to host the show instead!
(As expected, he did a sterling job.)
Having travelled from Chester to Staffordshire, I'm now back this week (with much better internet), ready to continue the show tonight at 7pm!
Veteran Wall-Streeter John Butler joins me once again to discuss the week in markets. We'll be reading between the headlines of the news, shedding light on some of the consequential events you might have missed, and of course answering your questions in the live chat.
Coming up first in the show will be the COP26 conference, where former governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney has re-emerged as a Green (sic) Vizier commanding some $130 trillion in financial firepower. One particular comment of his has an ominous quality:
| "We now have the essential plumbing in place to move climate change from the fringes to the forefront of finance so that every financial decision takes climate change into account" (emphasis mine)
| | Those are bold words indeed, but what do they mean for investors? Tune in tonight and find out:
I'll send you a reminder half an hour before we begin. See you there!
All the best,

Boaz Shoshan Contributing Editor, Fortune & Freedom
