The Hysteria Is Starting Early

Next week, five of the Magnificent Seven report earnings — Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon and Apple.
Nvidia, which is still the darling of Wall Street, doesn’t report until mid-November.
The remaining Mag-7 member already reported — Tesla. And investors loved what they saw, plowing more than $150 billion into the stock and making founder Elon Musk some $30 billion richer.
Here at Weiss Ratings Daily, we like to dive much deeper than what companies say in their reports. So, let’s look at how Tesla’s performance moved the market as a whole …
The minute Tesla’s numbers came out, the market diverged.
- Tech stocks, which make up a large part of the Nasdaq, soared.
- The Dow Industrials, which has far fewer techs, continued to drop on the week.
Now, I’m not saying Tesla is responsible for all this price action.
But it does suggest that investors are using the Mag-7 as an indicator this earnings season.
With five Mag-7s reporting next week — all much bigger than Tesla — expect a wild pre-election week.
Volatility is rising in the markets, which suggests some rough seas ahead at least until the results start rolling in. And maybe for a few days or even weeks after the last ballot has been counted.
They may indeed lift some stocks. But it appears those waves will swamp a few boats, too.
But there’s one asset that’s all but guaranteed to do well in November.
It doesn’t care who wins. In fact, the system we use to track this asset hasn’t read one headline or watched a single ad!
