Even the Fed Was Surprised Since July, we've been bracing for this week. After the Federal Reserve cut its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points, we have a clearer picture of what's ahead. And the economy may be in better shape than we thought… Even Fed Governor Christopher Waller was surprised!
