The ES (S&P 500 futures) opened last night at 4771 and that is our pivot to start the week. It went as high as 4792. In the pre-market, the Nasdaq is slightly stronger than the S&P, and the Dow is up 142 points at this time of day. Today is a watch day and I plan to exercise discipline in the process. Here's a few stocks we are interested in: LOGI, AAPL, NVDA to the upside and SHAK to the downside. AAPL still needs to get to 182.86 to reach the $3 trillion mark. I'll be looking for a re-entry on SHAK short, but only after today's observation. ~ TBUZ
Three stocks made my first-trading-day-of-the-year list-of-interest: UAA, GAIN, and SUM. I state it this way because it's usually a watch and monitor day. SUM, Summit Materials, has potential to reach a $50 target inside a strong materials sector with a stop at $37.39.
Kind words from our best students: "Hey Roger. Did an Elite type trade, OTM debit spread on your SWBI last week. Closed it out this morning for 150%!! Fireworks!" — Craig P., a premium subscriber to Roger Scott
