Image source: Getty Images The latest Cabinet-level official to resign following last week's riot at the Capitol is Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf. His decision to step down comes not long after Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos also left their posts.
Wolf's resignation was "warranted by recent events, including the ongoing and meritless court rulings regarding the validity of my authority as Acting Secretary," according to a letter he wrote to staffers. "These events and concerns increasingly serve to divert attention and resources away from the important work of the Department in this critical time of a transition of power."
