Jul 9, 2020 MORNING EDITION Daily DC Insider The senate filibuster has been one of the most peculiar procedural quirks of congress.
Many have debated ending it, arguing that it prevents the senate from doing any actual work.
But others argue that it serves as an important check on the senate, keeping it from becoming a rubber stamp of the presidency if the same party controls both the legislative and executive branches.
Case in point, some Democrats are on now board with the idea of ending the filibuster in anticipation of a Biden presidency.
Interestingly enough, these same Democrats had a very different take on the matter just three years ago.
