The mayor has urged Governor Abbott to institute a 2 week minimum shutdown to deal with the recent spike in COVID-19 infections. Texas has already issued a mask mandate, closed bars, and created a max-capacity rule for restaurants. The state has broken records over the last few days, with last Thursday setting the record for a single-day increase in coronavirus cases.
