| | | These Charts and Miners Prove Gold Investors' Patience Is About to Pay Off Big Time

 The patience of gold bugs is being tested - and I mean severely tested.
You have to be a true yellow-metal diehard to put up with this kind of abuse.
Yet they say good things come to those who wait.
Well, gold seems to have gone nowhere since 2013. In fact, the precious metal rose to $1,900 in 2011, then corrected to $1,200.
In late 2015, however, it bottomed at $1,050 and has been climbing on balance since. Gold stocks have done the same, bottoming shortly after, then rallying sharply. Despite their pullback from mid-2016, they're up nearly 80%.
I'd argue they're building up energy to spring much higher, as conditions continue to favor much loftier prices for the entire sector.

How Best to Profit from Trade War Roiling
 On Monday morning, the Dow opened up 200 points down. That's because this past Friday saw President Trump and China exchanging remarks about the imposition of tariffs amounting to $50 billion on Chinese goods and $34 billion on American.
For now, the market psychology is what's causing the roiling. Traders are uncertain and don't know what's going to happen next, and it's all about the threat.
Then "Varney & Co." host Stuart Varney asks the million-dollar question: How far down could the markets really go if the tariffs really take place? 10 to 15%, I say, which would mean 2,000-plus points on the Dow. Surprised is an understatement for Varney's reaction.
We then get into one of my favorite defense companies during geopolitical strife - Raytheon Co. I think it could benefit from this mess and shoot higher in the next year, given the rough times we could face ahead.
Then we shift gears a bit, to Apple Inc. The company has been making a pivot in recent months to medical wearable technology, which has opened up an incredible entry into a company I've been talking about for a while: BioTelemetry Inc.
The company has a partnership with Apple and has the technology needed to push Apple even further with its possible ambitions to make Apple products prescription medical devices from your medical provider. That means when you go to the doctor and need your vitals checked, you'd actually be prescribed an Apple Watch or other product to take care of that. That's revolutionary, to say the least.
Now, here's what I didn't say on "Varney" when asked about the market roil: I'm still very concerned by the prospect of some selling following more trade war tension; however, that's still a buying opportunity to me as long as quarterly numbers remain good. I'm looking at financials and, in particular, JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Overall, the sector has been beaten down, and that's a play on higher rates and a more hawkish Fed. If its numbers remain good and CEO Jamie Dimon continues to make good moves, the company could present a good buying opportunity at low prices.
