3 Ideas That Aren't Election-Related

Dear Subscriber,

I didn’t see a single political ad last week. And no, I wasn’t under a rock.

My hotel’s Wi-Fi also decided to go on vacation in front of Election Day. That’s enough to make me rate the experience five stars.

If you can go “off the grid” like that, I highly recommend it.

With the “noise” turned all the way down, I was able to consume some fun … and even market-moving … stories that I’d bet the rest of the market missed out on.

Today, I’d like to share some of those with you.

Still in the Halloween Spirit?

“Spooky szn” may be over for 2024. But you can still visit a replica of Michael Keaton’s favorite haunt in New Jersey.

The “Beetlejuice” house is a creation of Airbnb (ABNB)

Though you can’t stay overnight, you can enter this immersive experience dressed as your favorite character, take an art class and stay at a nearby Airbnb property.

The article lists the tour and the overnight stay as being free.

I’m not sure how that can translate into an Airbn-BEAT when the company releases Q3 earnings this Thursday. We’ll find out after the closing bell whether the company can give “Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!" a run for its money.

The movie sequel — which brought in some $300 million — holds the title of highest-grossing movie of the year in the U.S.

You CAN Take it With You

In my wonderful Wi-Fi void, I went on a ghost tour. Outside of a house that Nicholas Cage purchased before his career went south (the tour guide’s words, not mine), I learned the IRS can seize any of your possessions … but not your burial plot.

The reasoning? Because it is a future investment.

As for protecting your current investments, a new report is making the rounds that wealthy Americans — and especially younger millionaires — are planning to leave the U.S. in droves.

Droves, you say? From the article:

A survey by Arton Capital, which advises the wealthy on immigration programs, found that 53% of American millionaires say they’re more likely to leave the U.S. after the election, no matter who wins.

Younger millionaires were the most likely to leave, with 64% of millionaires between 18 and 29 saying they were “very interested” in seeking so-called golden visas through a residency-by-investment program overseas.

The article lists several “citizenship by investment” programs if you’re thinking of joining the “get out of Dodge” set.

The Nattering Nabobs of Negativity
Were Wrong About Nvidia

Those of you who subscribe to Weiss Technology Portfolio will remember that Michael A. Robinson recommended you book a 2,000%-plus gain earlier this year.

Michael noted this profit-taking was just a protective move against some expected tech-market downside … which started shortly after members booked that big Nvidia (NVDA) profit.

Michael’s feeling — and ours — has been that there would always be another opportunity to get back into the market’s best tech names.

And now, with Nvidia replacing Intel (INTC) in the Dow Industrials, it’s clear that replacing the Dow’s least-influential holding with the market’s most actively traded stock, expect some fireworks … and, potentially, some new recommendations … for 2025!

Also, not surprisingly, Nvidia’s stock popped on the news.

When a stock gets added to a major index like the Dow Industrials or the S&P 500 … or it gets upgraded to/from the S&P 400 or 600 … that news gets announced by press release on S&P Global

If you catch the news early enough, you can buy those stocks before fund managers do. After all, if you run a Dow- or S&P-based ETF, you have to own its components. But the public has to be notified first.

For my money, I’d wait till Michael says it’s buy time. But if you own NVDA before it debuts on the Dow this Friday, you might be rewarded for your quick thinking.

P.S. I have one final “non-election idea” for you today. Though, it does center around something else that’s taking place today. It’s when Juan Villaverde says that a “Golden Window” will open.

He called the past three perfectly … and saw returns of 16x, 19x and even 93x. Click here right away to check it out. It happens TODAY, with or without the election.
