For students in grades 3-8, they largely performed on par in reading with students in the same grades in 2019. It is thought the steady trend can be attributed to more students reading on their own or getting encouragement from their parents to read due to spending more time at home. However, the math data for students in grades 3-8 is worrying. The median percentile rank of how students performed in math dropped rather dramatically, with some grades dropping by as much as 10 points.
