A 10-year-old boy from California, identified as Keith "KJ" Frierson, was fatally shot over the weekend by another 10-year-old boy who became upset after losing a bicycle race. KJ's mother, Brittani Frierson, revealed that the shooter, described as a "sore loser," angrily opened fire following the informal race. According to Brittani, her son had received permission to ride the bicycle he had recently received for Christmas. The attack occurred less than 15 minutes later, prompting neighbors to alert her about the incident. The shooter, whose name is being withheld due to being a juvenile, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. (read more) |

If you got them right, [you] could then use the rules to predict what would happen in new situations,” said Ed Thorp. In some realms, artificial intelligence might just outpace human intellect. Consider this: AI can sift through vast data oceans, pinpoint patterns, and make sharp trades—all in mere moments. This very prowess fuels Renaissance Technologies' astounding 66% annual returns over a twenty-year span. Yet, such AI marvels remain elusive to the everyday trader, unlike hedge funds. | | | | |

It shouldn't come as a shock that Claudine Gay finally resigned from her post as President of Harvard. Due to her blatant support of antisemitism that was displayed when she refused to condemn an open call on campus for the genocide of Jews, as well as her swirling plagiarism rumors, it's a wonder she didn't step down before now. And that brings up the burning question: why did her removal take so long? And why is it being packaged as a quiet resignation? Gay's resignation is only a start at fixing the problem at Harvard - it's time for university officials and the board to take responsibility and explain what took so long in the first place. In previously redacted documents about convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, former president Clinton will be identified as one of several John Does, and he won't be the only high-profile individual unmasked in the report. The legal mask is about to come off for over 150 people who are only identified as John or Jane Does. Epstein had ties to numerous politicians before his downfall. A federal judge in New York ordered the release of numerous documents last month that list individuals connected to the late, scandal-plagued financier. A request for comment was not immediately responded to by Clinton's spokesperson. Many individuals, including colleagues, victims, investigators, and reporters who covered the case, are anticipated to be identified in the documents. A portion of the names, including those of minors, will continue to be sealed. (read more) |

| Since we just wrapped up the holidays, you more than likely took part in some type of gift exchange, whether with family, friends, or coworkers - or perhaps all three. But for one fire station that did a White Elephant Gift Exchange with coworkers, things took quite a bizarre turn when one of the firefighters decided on quite a weird gift to bring for the game. A White Elephant Gift Exchange is when people bring gifts to exchange, but the object of the game is to walk away with the best present. Of course, there are some duds and bizarre items mixed in along the way, and people steal each other's gifts as they are opened during the game. Greg Hagge decided to bring an iguana as a present for the White Elephant Gift Exchange at his fire station's holiday party. As you can imagine, there were various reactions to the unexpected gift. Here's what happened when the reptile was revealed during the game (yes, there's video). (read more) |
