| | Hey there, Folks, | It was a mixed day for the markets today, with the Nasdaq closing slightly up and the S&P 500 slightly down… | Today's CPI report came right in line with expectations, but that meant an uptick to 2.7% from last month's 2.4%. | I thought it was funny how politically biased a simple inflation headline could be, depending on where you read about it. | Here is a "normal" view of it from Bloomberg. | | Then, flip over to the great bastion of unbiased journalism at the NY Times… | | They obviously are not Economists and don't understand that tariffs have had very little impact on inflation so far. | Keep in mind that if you talk to Jerome Powell or Donald Trump, they'll tell you the federal funds rate is at restrictive levels, and we're still seeing a 0.3% increase in prices in a month. | It was also a mixed day for my "tactical trade" ideas. One of my ideas reached a 6% intraday high and closed in the green, while the other idea closed in the red. | HOWEVER, as of this writing the second idea is up a whopping 26% after hours, and is up 15% compared to yesterday's closing price. | If we count that one as a double-digit winner, I'm now up to 11 of my last 14 ideas hitting double-digit intraday gains. | I'm dialed into another "tactical" idea right now that's had one of the craziest runs I've come across lately. | From its April 7 low through its peak last week, it has roared 3,400%. | The stock has pulled back quite a bit from there, and I'm watching it tomorrow to see if we get a bounce back up. | It's a very interesting company regardless — one a pioneer in what I think could be the future of the way assets are traded. | This is something you should have on your radar no matter what.
