Test the Waters with This Conservative Approach to Crypto

Dear Subscriber,

Editor’s Note: If you exclusively read our Weiss Crypto Daily updates, you likely haven’t had the chance to hear from Gavin Magor.

He is the editor extraordinaire of our Weiss Ultimate Portfolio and a regular contributor to our TradFi sister newsletter, Weiss Ratings Daily.

Recently, Gavin wrote about his love for crypto technology … and he revealed a way new investors could dip their toes into the crypto market.

I didn’t want you to miss his insight, so I’ve asked him to share it with you, as well.

I’ll let him take it from here.

Best,

Beth Canova

Overall, I consider myself a conservative investor.

So, you might be surprised to learn I’m a big fan of the technology behind cryptocurrencies.

I don’t often write about them. But I worked very closely with Dr. Martin Weiss and our lead crypto analyst, Juan Villaverde, to launch our Weiss Crypto Ratings five years ago this month.

So, we usually let Juan and his team of analysts write to you about crypto.

But when it comes to using crypto to generate income — I’m talking about fat annual yields like 76%, 92%, 101% … even 912% — that is something I’m eager to share my 2 Satoshis about.

10 Blue-Chip Cryptos Beyond Bitcoin

Blue-chip stocks are suitable for those who prefer slow and steady growth without surprises.

These stocks also work as a store of value and hedge against inflation. Many also pay steady and growing dividends.

Some that come to mind are Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Coca-Cola (KO), Apple (AAPL), Walmart ( WMT), etc.

Cryptos can be considered blue-chip assets if they have:

  • High trading volume.
  • High market caps.
  • Low volatilities.
  • Long-lasting, high reputations.

Recognition from institutions also contributes to the blue-chip crypto status.

Coins with multibillion-dollar market caps attract the most attention from financial and academic institutions, which adopt and research many of the top cryptocurrencies.

Take Ethereum (ETH, “A-”) for example …

The second largest crypto by market cap boasts a revolutionary decentralized ecosystem. One that changed the world of cryptos and created the basis for the modern-era blockchain industry.

Ethereum has a market cap of $446 billion, making itaround 50th among all the world’s assets.

It’s also rated an “A-” by Weiss Crypto Ratings.

Ethereum radically developed and expanded the potential of blockchain and became an essential subject for the financial and scientific worlds.

Its platform can potentially replace traditional financial systems by allowing users to lend, borrow and trade assets without relying on banks.

And its adoption by developers and users is unprecedented.

That’s why — despite its lagging performance this bull cycle compared to other Layer-1 smart contract blockchains — Ethereum still reigns as one of the leading crypto networks.

Solana (SOL, “B”) is another good example due to its lightning-fast transactions and low fees.

While Ethereum can only process 15 transactions per second (tps), Solana has hit a max of 7,229 tps for only a fraction of what Ethereum charges in gas fees.

This makes it perfect for user-friendly blockchain applications.

And thanks to its stellar performance so far this cycle, Solana is now the third-biggest crypto by market cap.

From gaming platforms like Star Atlas to innovative apps like Genopets, Solana makes blockchain technology accessible to the average person.

Its efficient design ensures it will continue to play a major role in areas like gaming and consumer technology.

Based on the definition of blue-chip cryptos, the following join Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana in the category:

  • XRP (XRP, “B”)
  • Cardano (ADA, “A-”)
  • Avalanche (AVAX, “B+”)
  • BNB (BNB, “C+”)
  • Chainlink (LINK, “B-”)
  • Tron (TRX, “B-”)

Investing in blue-chip cryptos is an excellent way to introduce yourself to the crypto world.

That’s not to say all the cryptos listed above are guaranteed to give you high returns.

But with real-world applications expanding and ecosystems maturing, established blue-chip cryptos can offer an intriguing way to invest in this still-speculative universe while protecting against the worst of its volatility.

After all, they are strengthening the digital asset economy. And the “bluer” chips should continue to transform how value is stored, transferred and used globally.

Still, blue-chip cryptos are not synonymous with blue-chip stocks.

So, if you are doing this on your own, buy them with your fun money and not the cash you are counting on for the longer run.

And be sure to do your due diligence, so you get in at the best time and, as much as possible, the best price.

Now, as you know, some of these blue-chip cryptos have big price tags …

Bitcoin is trading above six figures … Ethereum is above $3,300 … and Solana is a relative bargain at $196 and change as of earlier today.

But as I hinted earlier, there’s another way to partake in this high-reward market.

And that is by targeting …

Supersized Crypto Yields

Another enticing way to invest in crypto is with yield-hunting strategies that my colleague Marija Matić has mastered.

She has proven to deliver supersized yields with APYs of 76% … 92% … 101% … 912% … and even a staggering 1,168%.

And no, these yields aren’t with CDs or bonds … they are with cryptos.

In her new “Supersized Income Summit,”  she will unveil the details of this highly successful strategy.

But spots are very limited.

She will host it this coming Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 2 p.m. Eastern.

I urge you to reserve your spot to learn more.

So, whatever your cup of tea is in the investing world, we’ve got you covered here at Weiss Ratings.

Cheers!

Gavin Magor
