Dear Reader,
We have a little change to your regular scheduling this week.
Our live YouTube broadcasts are something of an experiment here at Southbank – we're still figuring out what format works best.
When we first started hosting them in the mornings, several readers emailed us to say that they'd love to tune in and join the discussion, but they just don't have time during the working day.
With that in mind, we're going to try broadcasting the show at 7pm, UK time, on Wednesdays to make sure that all those who want to tune in are able to do so.
Tonight at 7pm, I'll be joined by John Butler (former Wall Streeter and all-round financial expert) to discuss the most important investment themes and market events that need to be watched.
First and foremost, in this episode, we'll be discussing whether the Bank of England will raise interest rates in the face of the inflation surge. The decisions made in that ivory tower on Threadneedle Street affect all UK investors (whether we like it or not!), and this one will be especially revealing. Will our monetary overlords cull the inflation surge that we've seen this year, or let it rip?
Be sure to tune in, and ask your questions in the live chat tonight:
We'll also be examining the top stories in the financial press this week with our "Reading between the headlines" segment. And for some light relief, we'll be carrying on with our "Long/Short" section, where we each pick an asset/commodity/behaviour or other phenomenon that we would bet on or against in the current market environment.
I'll send you a reminder half an hour before we get started – see you there!
All the best,

Boaz Shoshan Contributing Editor, Fortune & Freedom
