Hey there,
The summer sun bears down on your shoulders like the yoke on a mule's back. The heat from the dusty ground under your feet reflects back at you sucking your molecules dry.
And that's only the beginning.
From an elevation of 85 meters below sea level (279 feet) over the next 48 hours you will cross the desert of Death Valley and climb to the majestic feet of Mount Whitney.
When the race is over you will be standing at 2,548 meters above sea level (8,360 feet) and will have endured temperatures of up to 130º F (54º C).
That, my friend, is the Badwater Ultramarathon.
A 135 mile (217 km) race through the harshest terrain imaginable across the badlands of California.
The record is held by Yoshihiko Ishikawa who completed the race in just over 21.5 hours.
His prize?
A belt buckle.
Sound like fun?
To me it sounds like a living hell.
And I totally recommend that instead of competing in the Badwater Ultramarathon, you sign up for the CTN treasure hunt!
Not only is it a lot less stressful on your body, but you could win some real crypto instead of a meezly old belt buckle that probably doesn't go with your jeans anyway!!
But you've still got to hurry.
The prizes will be awarded in just a couple of weeks, so click here to sign up now!
Yours,
Tony Lewis
